Giles Davies undertook the bespoke renovation of a listed farmhouse into luxury hotel accommodation at Whalesborough Farm Holiday Resort. With a dedicated project management and coordination team, the project was managed from concept stage through to onsite delivery.
Having worked with the property team at UK Country Parks for many years, Giles Davies was chosen as the main contractor for this project. Their longstanding relationship and proven track record ensured a smooth collaboration for the renovation of the latest acquisition at Whalesborough Farm.
Giles Davies oversaw the detailed refurbishment of the listed farmhouse, originally the centre of the dairy farm at Whalesborough. Collaborating closely with the client and interior designers, the team developed, planned, and executed a sympathetic yet contemporary transformation of the dwelling into luxury accommodation for resort guests.
Over four weeks, the following works were completed:
External Maintenance and Repairs: Addressed the old housing structure, including internal structural and roofing works.
Kitchen and Bathroom Refit: Complete installation of the new kitchen and bathrooms, incorporating new layouts and sanitary ware specifications.
Electrical and Data: Partial rewire and installation of new data systems to interface with the resort's systems, supporting upgraded lighting and hotel services.
Plumbing: Comprehensive bathroom and kitchen fit-outs.
Carpentry and Construction: Full refit and maintenance works, including roofing, ensuring all building elements were managed under Giles Davies' remit.
Finishing Trades: Full decoration using heritage paints and finishes, installation of new carpets and tile floors, and renovation of existing pitch pine floors. Complete tiling and stonework in kitchens and bathrooms.
